Robert Stellwagen focuses his practice on the representation of construction professionals, including developers, contractors, material suppliers, architects and engineers. His practice has included general consultation on the issues affecting construction professionals, their businesses, employees, consultants, and contracts, and representing them in litigated matters as both plaintiffs and defendants through jury and court trials, arbitrations, and mediations. Through his litigated cases, Robert’s reported Appellate decisions involving his clients include Tomko Woll Group Architects, Inc. v. Superior Court (1996)(46 Cal.App.4th 1326), which enforced the patent defect statute of limitations in a lawsuit that had been prosecuted against an engineering client. In addition, Robert is a member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), where he has serves as lecturer as he does for the American Council of Engineering Companies of California (ACEC California) formerly the Consulting Engineers and Land Surveyors of California (CELSOC), local chapters of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and other industry groups. He is a member of various other professional organizations including the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, where he has served on the Judicial Election Evaluation Committee, the Pasadena Bar Association, and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel. He is admitted to practice in the State of California, the U.S. District Court, Central District, and the United States Court of Claims.
When not practicing law, Robert can be found coaching football through the local Brotherhood Crusade organization, coaching baseball though the local Little League, or at a Little League Board Meeting.
Robert earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, graduating cum laude. He received his Juris Doctor from Hastings College of the Law.
